May 2009

In May, Sarah had a Tinker Bell play date at our house
with some girls from her pre-school and her friend
Zoey. They had a great time dressing up, painting their
fingernails, decorating the sidewalk, and blowing bubbles!

Reid got into the painting too! He was COVERED
by the time the play date was over! Sarah loves her
Tinker Bell costume!

And this is what our driveway looked like!

Sarah broke her leg (tibia and fibula) on the 27th while
going down a slide in a bouncy house. Who knew you could
break a leg while inside a bubble of air?
Post-casting session frosty.
We went and visited Grandma and Daddy Bill for the
weekend - a great distraction for Sarah and Reid while
we were getting used to Sarah's hurt leg.

Reid played lots of t-ball

We took a road trip over spring break for our friends (Matt and Miller) wedding, and decided to make the rounds to visit a lot of family! We started outin Asheville for the wedding that Chris, Sarah and Reid were all in. The kids were really well behaved and SO CUTE!

Here are some of the professional photos we had done:

We stayed with Chris's Aunt and Uncle (Pat and Robert) in Asheville through Easter. The kids had a great time at the really nice park in their neighborhood, and the Easter Bunny left them some goodies too!

Then we went to Waynesville to stay with Chris's cousins Don and Mary Ann at "The Big House" for a few days. We got to see Mi-Mi, Grammy, Pops, and Jerry too! We had an Easter Egg Hunt, jumped on the trampoline, and had lots of fun looking around at Cataloochee.

"The Big House" - where Don and Mary Ann live.
Sarah thought the best part was Mary Ann because she has
the same color hair as she does!

We had a picnic at the Caldwell House in
Cataloochee - finished in 1909.
See http://www.mysmokymountainvacation.com/historicbuildings/cataloochee.html for more info on this and other Cataloochee attractions including the Hannah House which goes back to Mi-Mi's husband's family (the Hannah's). It was really neat learning all the history!

The last leg of the journey was at Grandma and Daddy Bill's house. We visited the
NC Transportation Museum in Spencer that has tons of cool trains, planes, and
automobiles to look at! Then Sarah got to go see the horses at Silver Hill Farms where
Mommy used to ride. She got to brush them, ride them, and even got to ride in the lead
line class in a real horse show the next day! She tied for first place! :-)

passenger cars!
This steam engine was in the movie Leatherheads
with George Clooney - they shot some scenes right
here in Spencer where the train museum is.

And then she got to ride Tucker!

Cheese!!! Mommy, I want to do this again!
So, the next day we got up at 6 am to meet Lori and the
horses in Summerfield for the Steeple Hill Horse Show....Sarah
is not a morning person.

But it ended with Sarah winning a blue ribbon!!
